While planning for the implementation of a new firm-wide strategy, the Executive Committee of a mid-sized law firm realized that they needed to realign their approach to measuring the performance of their business units and partners, which had been based almost entirely around billable hours.
Calibrate worked with the leadership team to create a new set of performance measures that were more closely related to the “pillars” of the new strategy. The new measures — which included KPIs for growth, client service excellence, and developing people — were incorporated into a Balanced Performance Scorecard, to be used in all communication about performance. The Scorecard also drove decisions about partner compensation.
Calibrate supported the leadership team in the implementing the Balanced Scorecard within the firm’s HR, Compensation and Business Development processes, resulting in a successful launch and sustained rollout to attorneys, partners and staff.
