As of May 30th, we have completed data collection from 30+ top law firms across North America to benchmark the maturity of their HR/talent operations.

The data suggests that while firms are making significant strides in valuing the importance of these practices, their execution holds significant opportunities for improvement, particularly as it relates to employee enablement and professional development strategies.

The Talent/HR Operations Index maps the maturity of HR/talent operations at law firms against a common set of leading business practices used by high-performing talent organizations across eight categories:

  1. Business Alignment and Accountability
  2. Business Processes
  3. HR/Talent Data
  4. HR/Talent Performance Management
  5. Employee Enablement
  6. Systems and Technology
  7. Talent and Knowledge
  8. HR/Talent Operations

The 2023 Law Firm HR/Talent Operations Index report is comprised of responses from Chief HR Officers, Chief Talent Officers, and equivalents. Responses were aggregated and then analyzed to reflect the current state of HR/talent operations at law firms. Participating firms will receive an individualized report showing how their responses compare to the industry. The study is expected to be published in Q3 of 2023.
