The 2018 Law Firm Growth Enablement Survey—a joint research study conducted by Calibrate and Intapp—demonstrates that marketing and BD leaders need to align their programs to the larger challenges and opportunities of the firm.

The Growth Enablement Survey polled marketing and business development professionals at firms ranging in size from less than 100 attorneys to more than 2,500 to learn more about the client lifecycle, the biggest barriers to growth, and the most widely used and effective marketing and business development strategies in today’s increasingly competitive legal market.

Among the survey’s key findings:

  • A combination of poor visibility and data gaps is limiting firms’ ability to execute business development effectively.
  • Business development departments are overstretched and undersupported.
  • Law firm sales methodologies lack modern capabilities.
  • Firms need to leverage data on key clients to accelerate growth.
